Rebel Riot Poetry is an inclusive, online poetry night with featured acts and an open mic. It is held on the last Monday, every other month from 7:30-9pm. Co-hosted by two disabled, queer poets: George Parker and Charlotte Lunn.
We want you to perform your little acts of rebellion, your protest poems, your ANGRY poems, your gentle, kindness poems, your nap poems. Tell us how you defy just by being alive, just by taking breath, by rioting!
If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know and we’ll do what we can to accommodate. Rebel Riot Poetry will be ticketed but a pay-what-you-can option will be available for those struggling financially. All are welcome but we won’t tolerate hate speech.
Sign up for the open mic by buying an Open Mic ticket (or a regular ticket) here. Low income tickets available.
You can catch up with the latest news and stay connected with our community via our Facebook page.
I still remember my first Rebel Riot Open Mic!
I had published my first collection a few months prior so the opportunity to share my work overseas was wonderful. Virtual spaces that are by us, for us are rare. Rebel Riot amplifies voices that are traditionally silenced. Our stories are heard, our community is seen, and our art is embraced. Thank you, Rebel Riot! ~ Valois J Vera
"Rebel Riot is an upliftingly powerful, inclusive, accessible & profoundly cool event that champions marginalised poets & offers a vital virtual space for disabled/medically vulnerable folk to perform. Long live Rebel Riot. Thank you." - Regular attendee
